The Bruce Lee Diet

Obviously people associate Bruce Lee as being a master of martial arts who appeared in many films and had quite an amazing life. But one thing people may not be aware of is that Bruce Lee had a very strict diet which he stuck to, to keep him performing at the peak of his fitness. The Bruce Lee Diet consists of various factors which we will examine below.

Obviously before even thinking about copying the Bruce Lee Diet, you should consult a suitably qualified medical professional to make sure you are fit and healthy enough to start a new diet or weight loss program.

He worked on a basis that he didn't consume any calories or carbohydrates that had no effect on improving his fitness. So he didn't eat many products that contained flour, such as biscuits etc. He enjoyed eating his native western food, so Chinese meals were eaten plentifully. He liked these especially because of the goodness from all the vegetables that they contain.

Another major part of the Bruce Lee Diet was that he avoided products that contained dairy, such as milk and cheese. He would use a powdered milk. Anything Bruce did is what is recommended on most of the popular diets in todays society and that is to eat small and often. Avoid having large meals and have 4-5 small meals each day. This helps to keep a stable metabolism and encourage weight loss.

The Bruce Lee Diet also consisted of regular high protein drinks and also taking supplements. Obviously these have improved a lot since those days but he reguarly took vitamin tablets and made sure he was eating a lot of protein.

Obviously the Bruce Lee Diet was limited to what was available at the time but his diet still makes sense. That's why he was able to remain almost fat free but with a lot of energy which he used in his martial arts.

Jackie Chan plans Chinese earthquake movie

Jackie Chan is planning to make a film about the recent devastating Chinese earthquake, which left almost 60,000 dead and more than five million homeless.

The 7.9-magnitude quake stunned the world and now Chan wants to do everything he can to help the shellshocked survivors - and that involves making a film about their plight.

The 'Rush Hour' star, who is an icon in China, is planning a meeting with the country's leading studio bosses and film financiers to discuss his movie plans.

He says: "There are so many touching stories (and) through this movie, we will be able to show the whole world what happened. This will also be another way to raise money."

Jackie Chan wants to make movie about chinese earthquake

Chan also plans to raise money through benefits for the victims and their families.

He tells America's People magazine: "I can spend six years doing a movie, but I can plan an event in 72 hours. An event we're doing on June 1 in Hong Kong will include more than 100 artists from Asia."

Chan has already visited hospitals, schools and the ruins of streets of houses in the areas worst hit by the earthquake, and he has already donated more than $1m (€627,475).

Bruce Lee Broadway show planned

Stage musicals about the late martial arts star Bruce Lee and former South African President Nelson Mandela are to be made for Broadway.

Bruce Lee: Journey to the West, set for 2010 or 2011, will tell the story of the action hero's rise to fame.

Meanwhile, a separate musical about South Africa's struggle for freedom from apartheid is planned for May 2010.

It will be based in part on a forthcoming memoir by Mandela's daughter Zindzi.

It will mix historical events with tales from Zindzi's memoir about growing up in the apartheid era with her father in jail.

The struggle against apartheid was also the subject of 1988 Broadway musical Sarafina!, about the 1976 Soweto riots. That was made into a film starring Whoopi Goldberg in 1992.

The Bruce Lee musical will include martial arts, Chinese opera, modern dance and pop music as his character struggles to master his skills and forge a link to unite East and West.

A lead actor has yet to be chosen. Lee died in Hong Kong in 1973 at the age of 32, having suffered from a fatal swelling of the brain.

He was loved by fans for martial arts movies like Enter the Dragon and Fists of Fury.

Bruce Lee's old home to be sold to raise money for quake relief

HONG KONG — News reports say Bruce Lee's former home in Hong Kong is being sold to raise money for earthquake relief efforts in China.

The Souch China Morning Post reports philanthropist Yu Pang-lin plans to sell five residential properties in the Kowloon Tong district, including Lee's former home, with the proceeds going to quake relief.

Reports say Lee lived in the two-story house in the 1960s and 1970s, but it has since been turned into a love motel.

The report says the plot has an estimated worth of US$13 million.

Lee, who died in Hong Kong in 1973 at age 32 from swelling of the brain, was born in San Francisco but grew up in Hong Kong where he also made his name as an actor.

The action star was known for films in which he portrayed characters that defended the Chinese and the working class from oppressors.

Yu was not immediately available for comment.

Rush Hour 3 Official Trailer

Rush Hour 3 is a 2007 film and the third installment in the martial arts/action-comedy Rush Hour franchise starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker that began with the 1998 film Rush Hour and continued with the first sequel Rush Hour 2 in 2001. The film was officially announced on May 7, 2006, and filming began on July 4, 2006. The film is set in Paris, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. Rush Hour 3 was released on August 10, 2007, in Canada, the US, and UK.[1]

Academy Award-winning film director Roman Polanski co-stars as a French police official involved in (Chan and Tucker's characters) Lee and Carter's case. Tzi Ma reprises his role as Ambassador Han, Lee's boss and friend who appeared in the first installment. This film has received a M rating by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (Australia) and a PG-13 rating by the MPAA for "sequences of action violence, sexual content, nudity and language".

The film was not screened in Chinese theaters in 2007 due to an "overabundance" of imported films released that year, an import official stated (China only allows 20 imported films to be released nationwide in theaters each year).

Three years after the end of Rush Hour 2, James Carter is no longer a detective, but a traffic cop on the streets of Los Angeles. Lee is now the bodyguard for his friend Ambassador Han, the former Consul from the first film. Lee is still upset with Carter about an incident in New York City when Carter accidentally and non-fatally shot Lee's then-girlfriend in the neck, Secret Service agent Isabella Molina.

During the World Criminal Court discussions, as the Ambassador addresses the importance to fight the Triad, he announces that he knows the identity of the Triad leadership known as the Shy Shen. Suddenly, Han takes a bullet in the shoulder, disrupting the conference. Lee pursues the assassin and corners him, discovering that the assassin is his "brother" Kenji. When Lee hesitates to shoot Kenji, Carter shows up driving towards the two and accidentally nearly runs Lee over, allowing Kenji to escape.

In the hospital, Lee learns that Han will make a full recovery. Han's daughter, Soo Yung (Zhang Jingchu), now grown up, arrives and makes Lee and Carter promise to capture the one behind the shooting. She then informs Lee and Carter that her father gave her an envelope which contains important information regarding the Triad, and that the envelope is in her locker at the martial arts studio where she works. Lee and Carter make their way to the martial arts studio where they battle a giant, (Sun Ming Ming), but find out that a gang of armed men had already arrived and taken the contents from the locker. Lee and Carter realize that Soo Yung and Han are in danger and rush back to the hospital.

Once the two reach the hospital, a gang of assassins arrive to kill Soo Yung and Han. Lee and Carter manage to defeat them, with the help of Soo Yung, and interrogate the leader of the assassin squad. Much to Lee and Carter's surprise, the Asian assassin only speaks French. With the help of a resident nun, Sister Agnes (Dana Ivey), in translation, they find out that they are marked for death by the Triad along with Soo Yung and Han. For her protection, they take her to the French Embassy and leave her under the care of Reynard, the French ambassador. When a car bomb detonates, nearly killing Reynard and Soo Yung, Lee and Carter decide to go to Paris to investigate.

In Paris, (after getting a painful cavity search from a Parisian commissioner, played by Polanski) Lee and Carter meet up with George, a taxi driver. George refuses to drive Carter, saying that Americans make him sick, as they are "the most violent people on Earth"—to which Carter replies by forcing George, at gunpoint, to drive to a Triad hideout disguised as a gentleman's club. There Lee fights off a Triad assassin named Jasmine (Youki Kudoh); meanwhile, Carter meets a beautiful woman named Geneviève (Noémie Lenoir). However, Lee and Carter are both forced out of the club and are captured by the Triads. Lee and Carter manage to escape, but then have a falling out concerning Lee's relationship with Kenji. Shortly after Carter storms out, Reynard appears and tells Lee that Han's informant knows where Shy Shen is. The informant turns out to be Geneviève, and both Lee and Carter end up looking for her.

After the two have encountered Geneviève they save her from an assassination attempt by the Triads and flee to their hotel room.[3] However, they are attacked again by Jasmine and decide to hide out with George, who now has fostered a great appreciation for the United States. Lee and Carter learn that Geneviève not only knows where the list is, she is the list. The names of the thirteen Triad leaders have been tattooed on the back of her head, as per tradition, and Genevieve explains that she will be decapitated and buried if the Triads capture her. When Lee and Carter bring Geneviève to Reynard, he reveals that he has been working with the Triads all along. Kenji calls and informs Lee that he has captured Soo Yung and that he would like to exchange Soo Yung for Geneviève.

Lee arrives at the exchange point, the Jules Verne Restaurant in the Eiffel Tower, with Carter, disguised as Geneviève. During a sword fight, Lee and Kenji fall off the tower and get caught in a safety net. Kenji's sword cuts the safety net open and it collapses, leaving both men hanging on for dear life. Lee then grabs Kenji's arm, intending to save his life. Kenji then willingly lets go of Lee and presumably falls to his death, saving Lee's life, who then, with less weight, swung to a scaffolding. Meanwhile, Carter single-handedly defeats the rest of the Triad henchmen, unwittingly kills Jasmine, and saves Soo Yung. As they send Soo Yung down the elevator, more Triads arrive. In order to escape, Lee and Carter use a French flag as a makeshift parachute and float to safety. However, they are confronted by Reynard, who is holding Geneviève hostage and threatening to kill her and frame Lee and Carter for her murder. However, George, having followed Lee and Carter, manages to shoot Reynard and declares "Case Closed". The police suddenly arrive, with the commissioner from earlier gloating and trying to get undeserved credit. After giving the commissioner a team punch to the face, Lee and Carter leave the scene dancing to War.

Fearless Trailer

Jet Li portrays the life of martial arts master Huo Yuanjia. The plot differs greatly from the actual life of Huo Yuanjia.

The movie starts off with Huo Yuanjia fighting 3 Westerners: a boxer, a spearfighter and a fencer. Huo Yuanjia beats them all, and makes it his habit to bow to the opponent. Just as he is about to fight Anno Tanaka, the final contestant, Huo Yuanjia has a flashback.

The story flashes back to when Huo Yuanjia was a small boy. His father, Huo Endi, was a great fighter but did not want his asthmatic son to follow in his footsteps, and hence refused to teach Yuanjia martial arts. Huo secretly watched his father's training and taught himself how to fight.

The young Yuanjia then witnesses his father "losing" a Lei tai match; in actuality, his father struck the winning blow of the match, because he delivered a fatal technique which he mercifully pulled short so that his opponent would not be killed. However, his opponent dishonorably struck back after Huo Endi's winning blow, causing Huo Endi to "lose" the match when he is knocked off the stage. Yuanjia is taunted by the son of the man who defeated his father and he steps up to defend the Huo family name. Yuanjia gets beaten up by the boy and he swears never to lose again.

As the years pass, Yuanjia grows into a powerful fighter, winning fight after fight on the Lei tai until he becomes known as one of the greatest fighters in Tianjin, China. However, as his success grows, he becomes arrogant and increasingly ruthless, unlike his late father. When a rival martial arts master named Qin Lei (Master Chin in the US version) apparently injures one of Huo's followers, Huo forces Qin to fight him to the death during Qin's birthday celebration. Yuanjia's businessman friend, Nong Jinsun, urges him to settle the matter later, but Yuanjia refuses, insulting Nong. After much effort, during which the fighters demolish a restaurant, Huo—unlike his father who had previously held off during the Lei tai match—kills Qin with a fatal blow. However, when he returns home, he realizes that his mother and daughter (Jade in the US version) have been killed in revenge. Guided by fury, he goes to Qin's home and finds Qin's Godson, who admits to slaughtering Huo's family, and that he alone was responsible. Qin's Godson then commits suicide before Huo can kill him.As he leaves, his pupils approach, and force the pupil that was injured by Qin to tell Huo that the reason Qin attacked his pupil was because the pupil had slept with Qin's concubine (in the American version he insults Qin's mistress). Crazed with grief and shame, Huo flees Tianjin and wanders aimlessly for many miles, no longer caring about himself. A disheveled, greying wanderer, he nearly drowns in a river, but is saved by Granny Sun (Grandma in the US version) and her blind granddaughter, Yueci (Moon in the US version). They bring him back to their village and guided by their simple acts of kindness, Huo begins to learn the value of kindness and mercy.

In 1907, Huo Yuanjia returns to a very different Tianjin than the one he had left. No longer a comfortable rural village, it is now a bustling city, crowded with foreign troops and merchants. There, he makes peace with his past—visiting the graves of his family and apologizing for his faults, and paying his respects to the family of Master Qin.

He then reconciles with Nong Jinsun and challenges the American fighter, Hercules O'Brien, who was making headlines defeating Chinese fighters and dismissing them as the 'Weak men of the East'. To the astonishment of the foreigners, Huo not only wins the fight, but the admiration of O'Brien in the process by saving O'Brien's life. Huo Yuanjia's fame begins to spread with successive challenges with other foreign fighters, and with funding from Nong Jinsun, he sets up Jing Wu Men, a martial arts school in Shanghai.

The members of the foreign Chambers of Commerce fear that Huo Yuanjia's victory will fan anti-western sentiments in the Chinese people and lead to revolts, so they seek to humiliate him. They challenge him to a match in which he will take on four foreign champions in a single evening: a British boxer, a German lancer, a Spanish fencer, and a Japanese martial artist. Though Jinsun urges Huo to refuse such an unfair challenge, Huo decides to accept, adding that afterwards, he intends to take a break and visit Granny and Yueci. He also accepts an invitation to join the Japanese challenger, Anno Tanaka, for tea. While there, they have an important debate about the value of the martial arts. Tanaka believes the goal of a martial artist is to defeat his opponent, but Huo impresses Tanaka by successfully arguing that the goal of studying martial arts is self-improvement, and that challenge matches are important not because of who wins or loses but because they provide a way for a practitioner to gauge his progress and can act as a focal point in his training. The two fighters leave with a friendly respect for each other, looking almost as if the two were actually friends.

The match was now found to have taken place on September 14, 1910. The flashback is over. Huo Yuanjia faces Tanaka in a titanic battle. In the first round, they fight with their weapons of choice. Yuanjia uses a Three section staff and Tanaka uses a Katana. In the middle of the round, each fighter manages to disarm the other and they end up exchanging weapons, whereupon it is clear that Tanaka has little to no experience with the three section staff. After they return each other their chosen weapon, the first round ends in a draw. However, both Huo and Tanaka have also formed a silent friendship based on mutual respect.

Before the second round, Huo drinks from a teacup that was switched unseen with his teacup, while he was fighting in the first round. In the second round, to be fought without weapons, Huo has difficulty breathing, loses his strength, and starts vomiting blood (the teacup he drank from was poisoned with arsenic). Tanaka and Huo's students immediately demand that the fight be stopped, but Huo replies that they might as well finish it since he will die regardless.

In his weakened state, Huo is no match for Tanaka but sees an opening to seize victory by delivering the same fatal technique that he had used to defeat and kill Master Qin. However, at the last second, he pulls the strike, letting it land without any power behind it, just like his father did in the start of the movie. As Huo collapses, Tanaka realizes both Huo's mastery and his mercy and helps Huo back to his feet, raises his arm and declares him the victor. The crowd from all sides cheer as they call out Huo's name.

When the furious Japanese diplomat confronts Tanaka, accuses him of throwing their victory away, and calls him a disgrace to Japan. Tanaka, perhaps knowing that he was the one who was behind the poisoning, angrily slams him against a pillar and repeats that Huo won the match; end of story. The scene is left off with the crowd gathering around what is depicted to be Huo's corpse.

The movie ends with a scene of Huo practicing his Wushu on a flower-covered hill, with Yueci watching from a distance. Huo turns to see Yueci, and she hurries towards him. The film ends with the two meeting eyes, presumably for the first time ever.

Then it is very difficult. I can tell you some excersizes, but i cannot correct you when you perform them wrong. And you will suck definately when you do it wrong when you join a club. But i will try to give you some suggestions: Do some push-ups everyday to make you arms stronger. Put your arms shoulder width and move your elbows close to your body (for your triceps training). Make the pushups on your fists, this will harden...

Thanks anyway
