Belts vs Belts

Now i have been asking myelf why is eatch belt diffrent like for instance

Cmaf taekwondo

Basic club - White suit
Black belt club - red suit
Masters Club - Blue suit
League club - Black suit

White belt 3 stripes on belt in order for next belt
yellow belt 4 stripes on belt in order for next belt
orange belt 5 stripes on belt in order for next belt
green belt 5 stripes on belt in order for next belt
purpel belt 6 stripes on belt in order for next belt
blue belt 6 stripes on belt in order for next belt
brown belt 7 stripes on belt in order for next belt
red belt 8 stripes on belt in order for next belt
red belt 2nd degree for red belt dont need stripes
half red half black belt dont need stripes
Black belt 1st degree 2 degree 3 degree
4 degree 5 degree 6 degree

it takes 3 months to get a belt but when u get to your half black half red it is very hard to pass a belt test and it takes 6 months to qulafie for a belt test

---------------------------------------------------
wtf taekwondo

white belt
yellow belt
green belt
blue belt
red belt
poom
black belt

it takes 3 to 5 months to quliafie for a belt test i dont know if there are degrees i think they are called geup
--------------------------------------------------
Itf taekwondo

White, yellow, green, blue and red are the coloured belts. There are two grades on each colour, thus 10 in total. Coloured belts start with 10th Gup (grade) and ends with 1st Gup.

it takes 3 to 5 months to qualifie for next belt

-------------------------------------------------

if u had noticed that the belts are all in difrrent orders

now lets say a

cmaf orange belt were to verse a wtf green belt

does this mean in anyway that the wtf green belt knows more?

No it doesent

--------------------------------------------------

now lets say a

cmaf green belt were to verse a a wtf green belt

does this mean in anyway that they are the same level?

no the cmaf green belt knows more because he has worked harder for his green belt
---------------------------------------------------

now lets say a itf member has a red belt and a wtf has a poom belt

is the wtf taekwondo member a higher belt

no and yes because the poom belt has worked harder
--------------------------------------------------

not cmaf taekwondo has more belts does this mean its the best taekwondo style around?

No and no again it just means the cmaf style is a little longer

---------------------------------------------------

lets get to the point

i was in a tournament and i am a cmaf member and i was up against a wtf member

i was a blue belt

he was a red belt

and guess who won

i did

thou he was supposed to be a higher belt

but i trained longer

Keep it simple

In the SWAT Wing Chun belt system it is very simple and clear.

First level - Yellow belt

You learn some basics and techiques with one arm and start sparring. Learn to control your fear. Chi Sau with one arm. (about 10 lessons).

Second level - Orange belt

You learn the first half of the first form, some dummy techniques and coördination with two arms. Two hand chi sau. Sparring on higher level with gloves. Focus on the first principle (about 20 more lessons).

Third level - Green belt

You know the first form and all applications. All basics. Walking, kicking etc... second principle. Start blindfolded sparring. (about 40 more lessons, app. 18 months of training)

Fourth level - Blue belt

You know the second form and all applications. You fight to multiple opponents. Third principle etc... (80 more lessons)

Fifth level - Brown belt

You know the third form and all applications. Real fighting withoug gloves, tricky situations etc. Fourth principle etc... (150 more lessons) You start to become a real expert.

Sixth level - Black belt

Now you know all, Three unarmed forms and all weapon forms. All (5) principles and everything there is. (300 lessons more)
So you need to know about twice as much for each belt. If you train once a week it will take you about 20 years to reach the black belt. If you train hard it is possible to get it in 5 years. There are also some teacher belts.

In my opinion a simple and complete belt system. Not like in some systems where you get a black belt when you know littlebit or when you have won some championchip. You only get the SWAT Wing Chun black belt when you really are worth it!

Martial Arts
i have been doing tai kwon do for about a year now and i also practice wing chun kung fu. in terms of what you might want, wing chun gets the job done...well and fast. you don't need to be strong, the style is strong by itself. tai kwon do is flashy and requires you to use brute strength. i enjoy both styles. Capoeira was also another style i tried it was great and very flashy, if your choosing just for...

there is no best martial art, now days, unless you want to be a professional fighter, or you need to know fighting for your job, there is no reason why you should need to know more than self defence, incase you fall intoa situation where you need to defend yourself, or someone else. but the answer lies within what can martial arts do for you, and what do you want to gain out of martial arts; whether it be fitness, self...

My *opinion*
I have tryed TKD for a year and a half.. I can see how it can be a good martial art.. but I had way to much art and not enough martial... If you find a good teacher then it is great and it is great in fights. I tryed kun fu.. it is great.. I loved it, my teacher did a lot of slef defense.. I am not sure if I liked it because he did a lot of...

Bruce wasn't the first to bring Eastern MA over to the West. Edward William Barton-Wright, for example, brought Judo and Jiu-Jitsu from Japan to Europe well over half of a century before Lee's time. He even combined the styles with Western martial arts such as stickfighting, savate, boxing, and wrestling. Eastern martial arts, as well as Lee's ideas, received much attention due to his movies. They were both popularized even though they were not necessarily new.
