Street Fights

Just say you are in a street fight. there are 4 people. the alpha male, the big strong guy and two others (normal size). You accidently bump into the alpha male, you say sorry, but he wants to fight.
What is everyones stratigy to overcome them. They have surrounded you at this point.

For me it would be to take out the big guy first. Take him out but allow him to keep standing (hold onto his neck) While you use him for balance i'd then kick out the alpha male so his outta the fight, and then take care of the big guy again.

By this stage the fight should be over. the two other guys have just seen their leader fall and the big stong guy fall also, they prob wont attack; if they do... take care of them.

So yeah, mine is take the big guy, then the leader, and finish off the rest if you have to.

What is everone elses thought?

Good tactics

Your tactics seem pretty ok. Take good care of your positioning. Use the big one as a shield so the others cannot reach you. Attacking the big one is best. In most conditions they are the worst fighters and they are easy to hit. You also scare the others by taking down the big one.

But, on the other hand, it is always better to avoid the fight.

I know

I avoid a fight at all costs, but the rare occasion does occour when i have to fight someone.
When i say hold onto the big guy, i ment to use him as a shield, i prob should have said that :P
Yeah, just because the big guy has the most strenght don't mean he's always the best. But people do get scared when the brains and th brawn are taken out within seconds.

link

sometimes the best way to overcome that obstacle, is to use dirty tactics eg, groind shots, poking of the eyes etc I know i wouldn't like to do that stuff but you got to do what you got to do.

link

lol

I'd probably only try and hit them in the nuts if they tried to hit me in the nuts

link

yeah

I'd be as dirty as possible. never stand still, always keep moving. i wouldn't take the guy as a sheild, because things could go wrong, or he could grab you etc. don't keep him standing, knock him out. also, don't let them circle you. eyesare always a good target. but yeah your tactics seem okay.

link

Who are you kidding? you jokers would get pounded...

link

lol

and who the hell are you?

link

yes xami

who the hell r u?
If your saying we'd get pounded from that tactic you've obviously nver been in a group fight

Martial Arts
i have been doing tai kwon do for about a year now and i also practice wing chun kung fu. in terms of what you might want, wing chun gets the job done...well and fast. you don't need to be strong, the style is strong by itself. tai kwon do is flashy and requires you to use brute strength. i enjoy both styles. Capoeira was also another style i tried it was great and very flashy, if your choosing just for...

there is no best martial art, now days, unless you want to be a professional fighter, or you need to know fighting for your job, there is no reason why you should need to know more than self defence, incase you fall intoa situation where you need to defend yourself, or someone else. but the answer lies within what can martial arts do for you, and what do you want to gain out of martial arts; whether it be fitness, self...

My *opinion*
I have tryed TKD for a year and a half.. I can see how it can be a good martial art.. but I had way to much art and not enough martial... If you find a good teacher then it is great and it is great in fights. I tryed kun fu.. it is great.. I loved it, my teacher did a lot of slef defense.. I am not sure if I liked it because he did a lot of...

Bruce wasn't the first to bring Eastern MA over to the West. Edward William Barton-Wright, for example, brought Judo and Jiu-Jitsu from Japan to Europe well over half of a century before Lee's time. He even combined the styles with Western martial arts such as stickfighting, savate, boxing, and wrestling. Eastern martial arts, as well as Lee's ideas, received much attention due to his movies. They were both popularized even though they were not necessarily new.
