who........the ....fuck, i dont have a clue wtf that was but i can safely say it wasnt fight choreography of any sort. looked more like power rangers.

link

Power Rangers ????

Quotation Wing Chun Man:
"looked more like Power Rangers"
...
what
...
the
...
fuck
...
!

Not that I've seen a lot of Power Rangers, but THAT is NOT
like Power Rangers, for shure!!!
And I don't think it was that gay or weak as everybody sais.
It was not great, but OK,
not near Jackie Chan standard though.

link

lol

true, whats your point andrewsz. that was pretty gay.

link

lol

lol I was thinking the same thing but i didn't feel like saying anything. That was some weak shit man.

link

tut tut

until you guys post up better shit, you can't talk.

i for one liked it, i reckon most of it was good stuff. not the best, but its a great start

link

no room

theres no room for another action hero. we already have too many. and plus he doesnt look like he really knows martial arts, his producer probably tells him what to do along the way. w/e he's not ganna get far in the movie buisness i know that much. its just another movie trying to copy off the karate kid.

link

WAY room!

What do you mean with "there's no room for another action hero?"
I think it's the otherwise.
I miss a good action hero, a young action hero, Jackie, Jet and all the others are going old.
Many peoples say that Tony Yaa would be the next action hero and get bigger than Jackie and Bruce.
I don't fancy Tony that much, he doesn't have the peronality like e.g. Jackie Chan. But maybe it will grow by the years.
Anyway, the point is: there are too little young and good action heroes nowadays.

link

maybe

maybe theres room for 1 more action hero but i dont think its gunna be that. ppl need to make up a new idea, i can tell from the preview that its gunna be just like the karate kid or something. in fighting movies its always the same story, maybe different moves and different ppl but its the same story. -a guy does martial arts and then he goes out on a journey to recover something and get into fights along the way. or its some guy that does martial arts and gets into fights all the time and is always getting fucked up. but in the end hes victorious. see what i mean its always the same story. besides, in the clip the indian guy barely kicked him in the stomach and he went flipping. ong bak was succesful cuz they combined thia boxing with all kinds of gymnastics. if your ganna make the same old story at least add things and make it look better. its not the time anymore to make movies where you kick a guy and he goes flying back 10 feet. we're starting to make movies a bit more realistic and then this andrew guy comes out of no where and makes it fake again. i dont think the movie is even in english.

link

yeah

i agree with ontite. hes right, its always the same story over and over. also ong bak was a good movie cuz it was realistic. anyone else that agrees?

link

Realistic?

Ong-Bak was not that realistic.
You don't make a 720 degree turn in the air before you kick a guy or kick him while you do a frontflip
when you're fighting for your life.
It's awesome cool to watch, but that's NOT realistic to do in a fight!!
But shure... it's more realistic than Matrix
or many others martial art-movies.

link

...

i mean when he hits them it looks like he really hit them.

link

That's tru

It looks really painful when the guys get hit.

link

he does

lol, it look realistic coz he actually hits the guys, i mean, in his movies, people get really hurt. in the openbing scene (i think) in the big tree, those people were actually falling, no wires slowed them down or anything. is some of his other movies, stunt guys nearly died, and many things went wrong, coz they're actually doing it.
with the kicking with flips and stuff, it does work in real life, i don't use flips, coz i'm too big and it slows me down, but a friend of my club, he is a golden cobra master, and he went into america for a tournament, and he lost because the way they faught was totally different, the guy did a backflip and kicked his chin, and it was point sparring, so he got lots of points for the attack, then the guy was cartwheeling around and kicking the head.
i don't know how well it would go for continoues sparring, but for point sparring it worked a charm

link

ya

but its not real through the whole movie. some parts are mistakes and others are fake. hes saying that you cant tell the difference between fake and mistake, thats why its realistic.

link

thank you

thats exactly what im trying to say.

belt system
that is true but you should still be respected for having achieved status in the first place shouldnt you? British and American war veterans in World War 2 fought to protect the free world but some may be alchoholics who do nothing constructive all day. However they should still be proud that they sacrificed themselves for a liberal society shouldnt they?

Martial arts movies
Martial Arts movies, you either love them or you hate them. There is no middle ground. They invoke passion on either side. If you love them you'll probably watch any old rubbish so long as there is some chance of someone getting a kick to the head. What's more you will probably even get a kick (pun totally intended) out of the cheesy badly dubbed dialogue. Classic lines to be found in almost any Chinese movie are, "My uncle sent...

Learning
www.yantaikungfu.com I was student in the school.unfortunately I left in advance last winter .At that moment, there are only several students. you know ,the terrible cold day outside ,the ice-cold room inside,he didn’t even provide any heat system.and deducted more than forty percent of my deserved refund without any reasons when I left earlier, a fake. more,I have heared from the translator that the true name of school is not “traditional kungfu school.he just put it into the internet.which put a cheat...

pi**ed off sigung
people forget that sigung gathered a concept of ideas that suited him at the time, yes it was given a name but it was never a set system of martial art, ive studied a form of jkd for many years now but feel that too much is put on the idea of it being bruce lees product and something that can be bought, what jkd is for me isnt what it is for anyother in the world, its how you...

Hey, I really like this forum.
It's cool to see what other people think and believe about some of the most famous martial artists. I was reading gunz's and lohan?'s comments, and then looked at the long list, and stopped reading right around where lohan said that he respected gunz. idk, if this forum is outdated, and that my comment will mean nothing... but here are my two cents anyway... Bruce Lee is great. Jet Li is great. Jackie Chan... is just crazy. Ha :) I think that...

Why Jackie chan would not last 1 round with bruce lee.
Bruce Lees style that he created himself jeet kwan do. (the art on no style). Ranked supreme during his time it broke down the all of the of the flaws of gung fu, kung fu, shaolin, boxing mu thai, judo etc. Jeet kwan do was all of the style combined into one style. If Jackie chan came at bruce with just his simple shaolin munk fighting style it would only be seconds before Bruce Lee would pick him apart. I...

Bruce lee is the greatest "why?"
Bruce lee is the greatest because he was the best at every popular fighting style at his time. If he lived in our era he would have studied brazilian jui jitzu and all of the other styles that have emerged in the ufc, k-1 etc. The best fighter is the who can adapt to all styles and that was what bruce lee was all about he trained and worked harder than any fighter ever. If there was a modern day...
