Kung Fu Fighting

Nice moves by different Kung Fu artists like Jackie Chan on the famous Kung Fu fighting music. Kung Fu Fun it is.

lol

Dammit, all wushu again, well, all besides the Aikido bit, which isn't really kung fu.

I have to admit, whent he wushu guys arn't running around i enjoy their stuff, but when they run half the floor thats when i wanna take 'em out.
but that 2 on 1 bit torawrds the end in black and white, that stuff was awesome. I'd love to do a demo like that

hay

I havent been here for a whil there was somthing wrong with my computre can anyone tell me whats been going on!

Welcome back

Hi welcome back, the usual is going on. Discussing training lately mostly. And of course the virtual martial arts championships.

link

kung fu

I know alot about kung fu and that it has over three hundred styles, but can any one tell what is the best style...

link

Dragon

If you can fight a genuine Dragon Master then that will be the best style...
there are places that teach you dragon straight away... those are all a bunch of crap or wushu!
Dragon takes years upon years before you can start learning.
in my club you have to master Tiger, Crane, Snake and Panther before you can learn dragon... and thats a lot of kung fu to learn.
There is a lot more than just the movements to learn, the spirit of the Dragon will take a long time to master, longer than the physical part of the style.

My opinion, which is pretty good when it comes to kung fu, is Dragon

steven seagal

I thik steven seagal sucks! just thinking about him makes me sick, i think some people were born to fight like bruce lee, jackie chan and jet lei but not steven seagal i mean the guys movies suck. no offence to anyone who likes him!

help

i have been doing taekwondo for almost three years now i have almost reached my black , but thing is i find taekwondo to easy, should i stay and go for my black belt or find a new club and go for kung fu...

link

finish--

i say you should always finish what you start. go as far as you can with what you're doing now and then you can do something else. don't waste those three years. actually, i don't know why you wouldn't be able to do both. you don't have to do one or the other. you consider yourself a martial ARTIST right? an artist in anything is open minded. limiting yourself to just one style is like a painter using just one color. i've done kung fu, tae kwon do, wrestling and boxing all at the same time. i wouldn't suggest most people do so much at one time. most of the time i just did two. anyway this is just my opinion. just make sure you think about the time and effort you put in to tae kwon do before you decide to do something else.

link

think a little first

i say stay in tae kwon do until you get your black belt. Coz it is an achievment, no matter how easy you find the style!
It also depends on what kung fu you want to do. Whether you want more of the fighting style of kung fu, want tog et into wushu with the flashy stuff... so think about that first...
Or, you could consider muay thai. Its a much tougher style than tae kwon do, and it focuses more on elbows and knees... the all around body stuff...
It will be similar to what your doing, so if you liek what your doing, but want more style variation, and a tougher challenge, then go for you black singlet in muay thai

link

stay, finish. once you get your black belt, it would be time for you to go up a new level. and plus youl better history of martial arts. and youl be more respected.

link

thanks

i think i am going to stay in tae kwon do till i reach my black belt then ill move on to kung fu.

link

good choice. like ontite said you'll have a history in martial arts. you'll have an advantage most people wouldn't have since you've already excelled in one area of martial arts. kung fu is a more complex style but you should catch on pretty fast.

Martial Arts
i have been doing tai kwon do for about a year now and i also practice wing chun kung fu. in terms of what you might want, wing chun gets the job done...well and fast. you don't need to be strong, the style is strong by itself. tai kwon do is flashy and requires you to use brute strength. i enjoy both styles. Capoeira was also another style i tried it was great and very flashy, if your choosing just for...

.
there is no best martial art, now days, unless you want to be a professional fighter, or you need to know fighting for your job, there is no reason why you should need to know more than self defence, incase you fall intoa situation where you need to defend yourself, or someone else. but the answer lies within what can martial arts do for you, and what do you want to gain out of martial arts; whether it be fitness, self...

My *opinion*
I have tryed TKD for a year and a half.. I can see how it can be a good martial art.. but I had way to much art and not enough martial... If you find a good teacher then it is great and it is great in fights. I tryed kun fu.. it is great.. I loved it, my teacher did a lot of slef defense.. I am not sure if I liked it because he did a lot of...

Bruce wasn't the first to bring Eastern MA over to the West. Edward William Barton-Wright, for example, brought Judo and Jiu-Jitsu from Japan to Europe well over half of a century before Lee's time. He even combined the styles with Western martial arts such as stickfighting, savate, boxing, and wrestling. Eastern martial arts, as well as Lee's ideas, received much attention due to his movies. They were both popularized even though they were not necessarily new.
