Press Release By Associated Press January 2, 2007, 1:41 AM EST
Jackie Chan to Produce 10 Films in China HONG KONG -- Jackie Chan said on his Web site Tuesday that he has a new film company in China. "I just started a company in China and I will be producing 10 films," Chan said on his official Web site. The action star, who is currently filming "Rush Hour 3" said he plans to use vacation time to scout talent and ideas for the 10 projects. "I need to meet the new directors. I need to read the screenplays and listen to ideas for more screenplays. I need to look at director reels to hire more directors for this big project," he said. Chan also said he is scheduled to make a commercial with retired boxer George Foreman in China, but didn't give details. Chan has continued to make Chinese-language movies alongside his Hollywood films. He recently released the action comedy "Rob-B-Hood," about a group of kidnappers who have a change of heart after stealing a baby and don't turn him over to their employers. Jackie Chan re-injures at 'Rush Hour 3'
December 5, 2006. Press release
HONG KONG -- Jackie Chan hurt his chest again while filming a fight scene for "Rush Hour 3," although doctors have cleared him of major injury, the veteran action star said in his online diary Tuesday. Chan first injured his chest in March while shooting his recent action comedy "Rob-B-Hood," when a stunt man wearing the wrong shoes kicked him. Chan said he got hit in the same area by a steel-reinforced wooden table while shooting a fight scene for "Rush Hour 3." "I was in a lot of pain because it was in the same spot where I had gotten hurt during the filming of 'Rob-B-Hood,'" he said. Chan said he tried to work through the pain, wearing a stunt belt across his upper chest and taking medication, but the movie's producers eventually sent him to a doctor. An X-ray cleared him of broken bones or organ injury, Chan said. Chan has suffered numerous injuries throughout his career. One of his worst was a brain hemorrhage while filming "Armor of God." He said in an interview last year he usually feels pain in his waist, knees and shoulders when he wakes up. The action star also said he's impressed with the spoken English of rising Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu, who has a part in "Rush Hour 3." Chan said Zhang, whose credits include "Seven Swords" and "Peacock," has shown good acting skills, but that he was "also surprised that her English was so good." "I don't know when she learned the language, but she sounded like an American. I've worked with many actresses who have had to learn English for a film, but she sounded the best," he said. Zhang has said she has been studying English in her blog. The Chinese actress is making her US debut in "Rush Hour 3," following in the footsteps of compatriot Zhang Ziyi, who made her debut in "Rush Hour 2" and has since successfully crossed over to Hollywood. The two Zhangs, who aren't related, have drawn comparisons to each other. In "Rush Hour 3," Zhang Jingchu plays Soo Yung, the daughter of Chinese ambassador Han who is kidnapped in the first installment of the "Rush Hour" series, which also stars Chris Tucker. The "Rush Hour" series plays on the humor from an interracial pairing of an ethnic Chinese and black police officer, played by Chan and Tucker.
Jackie Chan Cosmetics
On November 16, 2006 two very special events occurred in Hong Kong and although Jackie was unable to attend either of them, his involvement in both is newsworthy. First, the Jackie Chan Organic Skin Care line was introduced at Cosmoprof Asia, the largest and most prestigious international beauty trade event in Asia. Jackie and his business partner Maggie Chu joined forces to produce a line of skin care products which are completely organic. In keeping with Jackie's history of preserving and protecting the environment, the products are composed of natural ingredients which are non-polluting and all packaging is made using recycled materials. Several Hong Kong celebrities made an appearance at the opening, including Asuka Higuchi (Rob-B-Hood, Nothing is Impossible) and Hiro Hayama (Rob-B-Hood, Nothing is Impossible, The Myth).
![]() Later in the afternoon, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the official opening of the new Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts School of Film and Television campus in Pok Fu Lam. This second facility of the HKAPA is located in a renovated heritage building called the Bethanie. Built in 1875 by French missionaries, the Bethanie was used for over a hundred years as a sanotorium for missionaries recovering from tropical diseases they contracted while doing their work. In 2003, a groundbreaking was held to begin renovation of the building for use by HKAPA's School of Film and Television. The Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation donated US$100,000 to build a suite of three rooms for film production students. When completed (they're just about done), the suite will consist of a screening theater, an audio-visual room, and a production design room.
PETA & Jackie Chan Team Up To Stop Chinese Dog Culls
Kung fu star Jackie Chan has joined forces with People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) in urging Chinese authorities to stop large-scale dog culls to combat rabies. The actor has called on the Chinese government to use vaccines to tackle the deadly disease before outbreaks occur, rather than just reacting to emergencies.
Chan has designed a unique greeting card which is currently being auctioned on eBay, with proceeds going to PETA Asia Pacific's humane rabies control campaign. The card carries the inscription, "Of course it is our duty as human beings to love and respect each other. But that obligation extends to our animal friends as well. They are just as deserving of our care and kindness." ![]() PETA director Jason Baker says, "With Jackie's help, we hope to make dog culling a thing of the past. Humane rabies prevention programs not only save dogs lives, they also save human lives." More than 50,000 dogs were slaughtered in just one district of Yunnan province last month, following the death of three people from rabies. www.peta.org
New Jackie Chan movie
Jackie Chan Emperor's new film ROB B HOOD (BO BUI GAI WAT) has been scheduled for an October 1 National Day release. Big Brother Jackie Chan and Louis Koo Tin Lok suffered thoroughly in the film. Goo
Jai has repeatedly been injured. This film is Benny Chan Muk Sing directed. With comedian Michael Hui Koon Man and a cute baby, an action comedy is born. In one scene they were in a personal training room as debt collector Ken Low Wai Kwong led a dozen people for the fight. In the chaos both were kicked in the chest and broke the glass. Goo Jai also kicked the fitness equipment and his feet was bleeding; after the accident, Goo Jai remained calm and waited for the crew to treat the wound for him. He even comforted his assistant not to be too worried. "This is ordinary, it's no big deal and is not life threatening. I am a man, don't you think I can take a minor accident?" He continued, the next day the wound was still bruised and swollen like a pig's foot. Then it hurt the most. In addition, they had to perform highly difficult stunts like jumping from the air conditioning unit and escalators. Even with wires they could have been scared to death. In one scene Jackie Chan had to jump on an escalator to save the baby. The escalator was over 100 feet tall. Any mistake would shatter every bone. Although Jackie Chan was in control he still was sweating bullets inside. The final two scenes that injured them were a night break in of a high technology building to steal shark fin and the battle at the mahjong hall. They along with Hui Koon Man descended from a building roof but their rope tangled up, lowered the tolerance and nearly loosen. Although stunt doubles performed the stunt, the leads still had to be hung outside for close up shots. Goo Jai during the shoot suffered rope burn on his hands.

Legendary Kung Fu Trio to Reunite in 18 Years
The famous martial-arts trio of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung Kam-bo and Biao Yuen will reunite in a new movie as early as this month, Jackie Chan said yesterday (6 okt 2005).
"I did write the script for the new film myself, but it is likely to be directed by someone else," said Chan without unveiling the title of the new movie, during an interview with Yonhap News Agency. "It’s going to be a quite unique comedy film, which nobody has ever seen before." The world famous action star added that the new film is about a big comedy surrounding a baby in Hong Kong and said he is considering casting a Korean actor. In the 1980s, the three action heroes starred in several kung fu comedy hits produced by Hong Kong’s Golden Harvest, including "Project A" (1983), "Wheels on Meals" (1984) and "Dragon Forever" (1987).
